Most plastic “storage” containers are not safe for food “contact” in the microwave. These containers leak, precipitate, and transfer toxic materials at microwave temperatures of 212 (F) to 302 (F) which is 100 (C) to 150 (C). At these temperatures toxins leaching from the plastic are absorbed and transferred to humans when eating. Plastic “storage” containers leak toxins to food at microwave temperatures so be careful out there!
Microwave safe polypropylene material is much more expensive than the material used to manufacture most plastic “storage” containers found in large retail and grocery stores. Fasta Pasta™ is manufactured in the USA where we control product and material quality to ensure it meets FDA specification. Fasta Pasta™ recently passed the more stringent European food contact specification at microwave temperatures. Fasta Pasta™ is safe to cook all foods in the microwave oven.
Consider Chinese manufactured products where material and quality is sacrificed putting American’s health at risk. Manufacturing Fasta Pasta™ in the United States has been a challenge and is achievable. It would be easier, cheaper and simpler to manufacture Fasta Pasta™ in a communist country. Our profit would be greater but unfortunately that jeopardizes American’s health and employs more communists … not more Americans.
